The app

Side Notes is a note-taking app published by Straw Technologies SARL, available on iPhone, iPad and Mac through the App Store. It is free and has no ads. Side Notes Plus, optional, adds paid features (see below).

Downloading and using the app is also subject to Apple's App Store terms, including the standard licensed application end user license agreement.

Your content

You remain the sole owner of what you write. Your boards are stored on your devices and in your iCloud account: we have no access to them and cannot recover them for you.

Sync relies on iCloud. For notes you care about, remember to export a copy as a PDF or as text.

Availability

We do our best to keep the app working well and up to date, but it is provided as is, without any guarantee that it is free of errors. We may change it and add features.

Side Notes Plus

Side Notes Plus is optional. It adds features to the app, and everything that is free in the app stays free.

Plus comes in three forms: an auto-renewable yearly subscription, with a one-week free trial for eligible users, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and depend on your country.

Purchase, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds go through your Apple Account (App Store). A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel it in your App Store account settings. For a refund, contact Apple.

Apple's standard license agreement applies: Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

Liability

Side Notes helps you organize your thinking: the decisions you make remain yours. To the extent permitted by law, Straw Technologies cannot be held liable for data loss or indirect damage arising from use of the app.

Intellectual property

The Side Notes name, the icon, the app, this website and their contents are protected. The templates and examples published on this site may be printed and used freely, for personal or professional purposes.
